We welcome enquiries from Architects and Developers involved in New Build projects at any stage. A dedicated CSCS registered and HS&E qualified project manager who will be your main point of contact on and off-site is assigned to every installation. Your project manager can call upon a number of in-house services including architect trained AutoCad and 3D Cad specialists.
If you have drawings we will work from them. If you don't we can survey from scratch to produce panel layouts which will allow us to co-ordinate with you to plan services such as cabling, grid connection and battery storage.
New build installations can be spread over months starting with initial surveys and planning meetings, followed typically by installing the panels arrays on the roof before striking scaffold, running cables possibly at a later date, sometimes months later installing the inverters and finally connecting into newly supplied domestic connections. We cost to allow for this to ensure that all the work is carried out to high standards without fail. As each phase is reached we can typically arrange for progress visits on 7 to 10 days notice.
It is the Developer's responsibility to ensure that the A.C. connection from the inverter is installed correctly from our flying lead and tested and signed off to BS 7671. We can not perform final inspections until this is done. Extra visits for our Part P electricians to make the final connections are chargeable. If we can make the connections and certify on the day we install the inverters, meters and switchgear we will do so as part of the quotation.
There will be at least one further inspection after the system(s) have been commissioned to ensure correct operation and to complete the paperwork including Building Certication tickets specific to the solar PV systems. As we are authorised to self-certify there might be a later visit by a registered inspector coinciding with out annual NAPIT assessment.
An Operating and Maintenance Manual and Emergency Turn Off Instructions will be provided for each installation and these must be held by the end user. MCS rules require that insurance at a small extra cost be taken out with specialist insurers for each system i.e. each mains connection to cover wiring and connectors.
Materials will be delivered to site by arrangement prior to installation and must be stored securely pending installation. The Developer is responsible for lifting panels, mounting hardware and ballast to roof level so that it is available from 0800 on the day our team arrives. Extra days resulting from delays not of our making are chargeable. If crane licences are needed we will arrange to be on-site as required to dovetail with project timing.
We provide all of our own safety equipment including harnesses if required but work at heights should ideally be undertaken while scaffolding is still in place. If planning permission is required we can submit the applications with supporting drawings, photo montages, and any specialist surveys such as environmental and visual impact assessments that may be specified by the local planning authority.
